  • It can be a bridge to a better relationship. Flattery can somehow equate to compliments. And receiving compliments may help build a healthy and better relationship. Hearing flattery remarks once in a while can help a relationship be further strengthened as it is a show of appreciation for the other person.

Cons:

  • Excessive flattery remarks can lead to insult. Some people use flattery remarks to insult someone. Excessive use of flattery remarks can be a form of insult that can hurt someone so we should be careful of giving flattery remarks.
  • It can also be used as a form of sarcasm. Excessive use of flattery remarks may show off to be sarcasm. Some people are full of greed with what they see in others so they tend to be sarcastic. This can also hurt the person who will receive and interpret the remarks not as flattery but as sarcastic remarks.

So in conclusion, flattery will get you somewhere. Either good or bad. It’s up to you how it results in that. Flattery may result in a person being able to regain their self-confidence but it can also be an instrument for the person to lose their self-confidence.
